Founded in 1863 in Limoges, Bernardaud was born in a region rich in the natural resources essential to fine porcelain. What began as a small factory soon evolved under Léonard Bernardaud, an ambitious apprentice who rose to partner and expanded the brand in numerous ways. Passed down through generations, the family preserved the company through pivotal moments in history while managing its collections through artistic collaboration and technical innovation. 

From pioneering France’s first tunnel kiln to modernizing production, each era has shaped its enduring excellence. Today, under the direction of Michel Bernardaud, the brand continues to balance innovation with rare, time-honoured techniques.
