By using sand molds instead of clay ones and an enamel coating, Le Creuset’s founders completely revamped the traditional Dutch oven and the modern French oven was born. Every person who aspires to cook like a professional chef at home should be equipped with this kitchen workhorse: its signature flat base and tight-fitting lid retain condensation which keeps its contents moist and tender. Slightly more shallow than the Chef’s French Oven, the 6.2 L Shallow Round French Oven is ideal for searing meat before slow-cooking a chili or juicy pulled pork.
