Bought the copper knob for a lid I already owned, thinking it would both look great and be an improvement over the phenolic one that came with the lid. The copper knob is disappointingly cheap and feels like plastic in your hand. It’s so light I had to check the package to make sure it was what I had ordered. The standard phenolic knob is actually heftier and feels like it’s much better quality than the « copper » knob, which turns out to be copper-colored stainless steel of the lightest kind (not sure if it’s copper-plated or just copper-colored). The phenolic knob can withstand 500 degrees F in the oven so the copper knob is certainly not enough of an improvement in that regard for the price. The package is impossible to open neatly so I can’t return it and am stuck with it. Not the quality that made Le Creuset famous.
